Puerto Rico Open strengthens ties to Ricky Martin Foundation and its allies at Centro Tau

PGA Tour, Together, anything's possible

In honor and anticipation of the 10th annual Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach, earlier this week the tournament reaffirmed its commitment to the Ricky Martin Foundation by making possible a visit from the Three Kings to young students of Nuestra Escuela in Centro Tau.

Centro Tau was built by the Ricky Martin Foundation in 2014 in alliance with non-profit organizations Nuestra Escuela, Iniciativa Comunitaria and SER de Puerto Rico to offer holistic services to infants, children and youngsters as a way of improving the outlook for future generations.

The Ricky Martin Foundation was selected as a beneficiary of the tournament so it may continue to strengthen the alliance initiatives at Centro Tau, as well as its other educational efforts to defend the human rights of vulnerable populations.

"The Ricky Martin Foundation is honored to have an ally in the Puerto Rico Open," said Bibiana Ferraiuoli, Ricky Martin Foundation Executive Director. "We deeply appreciate the joy they brought to the 140 students of Nuestra Escuela at Centro Tau. All the allies that make up this Center are confident we will continue strengthening, with you, the well-being of our children."

The event was supported by Reliable Auto, the sponsoring company of the Foundation's annual golf tournament. Reliable Auto is equally committed to its mission to help. Thanks to the generous contribution, the Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach, along with other social investors, gifted 140 children and young people with presents and the celebratory visit from the Three Kings.

"The Reliable Foundation and Reliable stand firm in their social commitment and are thankful for having celebrated Christmas with so many children and young people," said Julio Calderín, Vice President of Reliable Auto. "We are filled with hope by supporting causes that promote well-being."

On December 14, under a sunny sky, hundreds of young people celebrated Christmas with a rousing performance to friends, family and school coordinators of "Put a Little Love in Your Heart." An ensuing solo of the "Villancico Yaucano" carol young Sheymet Ramos Rodriguez served as a reminder the essence of these festivities. The group closed with delightful presentations of, among other songs, "Cascabel" and "Merry Christmas." The special event was directed by the teachers of the Música & País Foundation, an entity which recently joined the Centro Tau alliance.

"To positively impact the communities where the PGA TOUR tournaments are played and where our athletes live has been an essential element of the organization and its philanthropic work," said Pablo Zarattini, Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach Tournament Director. "Today, we are pleased to bring a little joy to this wonderful Center and see firsthand the extraordinary work that is done here to serve the community."

Also taking part in the celebration were professional golfers Rafa Campos and Eric Morales.

The only PGA TOUR event held in the Caribbean, the 10th Puerto Rico Open at Coco Beach will be held at the Championship Course of Coco Beach Golf Resort March 23-26, 2017.
